The main difference between Z-wave and Zigbee is the radio frequency: Z-wave is sub GHz, which keeps them in a different part of the spectrum from Wifi and Bluetooth, while Zigbee operates in the 2.4GHz spectrum, so the same as bluetooth and standard band wifi, a very crowded part of spectrum.

    The biggest issue with Z-wave, being a Z-wave evangelist, is that manufacturers are giving up on making new Z-wave devices… they’re getting rarer and rarer to find, but when you do, they work so well.
